A celebration of music, sunset culture and the intangible cultural heritage of Ibiza to protect the Ibiza natural ecosystem

This August 21st, Ibiza will host a truly special celebration: SUN SETS x IBIZA, a cultural and charity event that honours music as an intangible part of Ibiza’s heritage and pays tribute to José Padilla — creator of the chill-out sound and pioneer of sunset culture. He was the first to soundtrack the sunset, turning it into something genuinely Ibicenco.

The tribute will take place at Sa Punta des Molí, a cultural venue offered by the San Antonio Town Hall for the occasion and part of the official Festes de Sant Bartomeu. The proposal is as simple as it is powerful — like every sunset over the Bay of San Antonio. And yet, symbolically profound: the soundtrack for the evening will come directly from José Padilla’s own record collection, played by some of his closest friends and collaborators.
